April 25-26, 1998. Conclusion of the 6 Hour National. We interview racer, Mark
Joung, and look at some of the National Challenge races including 600
SuperStock, 750 SuperStock and the Novice 600 SuperStock. #512 THE MOOSE RUN, May 2, 1998. Dan Schmitt rides the Saturday event
with the Team Chicago Helmet-camera. On Sunday, the baddest, toughest off-road
motorcycle race is held outside Morrison, Illinois. The action is covered with
comments from Jeff Fredette, Fred Andrews, Rodney Smith, Dick Burleson, Steve
Hatch and the Englishman, Edmondson.

Hour National, interview with rider of winning team, Chris Hughs, and we look at

SuperStock, 750 SuperStock, Clubman class and Novice 600 SuperStock #523 WERA Nat’l Indianapolis Raceway Park, Part 1,
June 27, 1998. We travel to Indianapolis Raceway Park for this four hour
National Endurance. We check out the first 2 hours. Included is the tech tip
about installing a FACTORY Jet Kit. We watch the technicians from Champion Spark
Plug take heat range test from the YZF600 Yamaha and John Miller explains the
charts. #524 WERA Nat’l Indianapolis Raceway Park, Part 2,
June 27-28, 1998. Continuing the
coverage of this four-hour race. We see #57 crash and lose the lead. #2 also
crashes out of race. Coverage of some of the races of this INDY CYCLE JAM
include B SS Expert, Vintage with Formula RD, B Production Novice and A
SuperSport. #525 Extreme Racing #526 WERA Nat’l Grattan Raceway, Part 1
July 11, 1998. Just northeast of Grand Rapids, Michigan is Grattan Raceway site
of the WERA 6-Hour National Endurance. After the start of this race, our tech
tip includes the mounting of the Team Chicago Helmet Camera on the new HJC
Helmet. Coverage continues through the 4th Hour #527 WERA Nat’l Grattan Raceway, Part 2
July 11-12, 1998 The final half of
this 6- hour endurance, we interview Paul Youngman of Semoff Brothers Racing and
Russel Mascar of Tapeworks. After the conclusion of this Endurance race, the
National Challenge races covered include 1100 SuperStock, Formula 2 and 600
SuperStock. #528 West Michigan G.P. #529 Lake County SuperCross, Part 1, July 27, 1998 #530 Lake County SuperCross, Part 2, July 27, 1998 #531 WERA Nat’l Summit Point, Part 1, August 1, 1998. Sixty
miles from Washington D.C., at the eastern edge of West Virginia, we race this
4-hour race. Interview with Sam Flemming of Army of Darkness. With the Team
Chicago Helmet-Camera we have birds eye view of this track First two hours
covered. #532 WERA Nat’l Summit Point, Part 2, August 1-2, 1998.
The last two hours of this race conclude this 4-hour National Endurance.
The 600 SuperStock race on Sunday is covered with great crash by Mark Joung.
Then traveling to Woodstock, Illinois, we check the Bikini Bike Wash at Cycle
Craft Yamaha.
#533 WERA Nat’l Putnam Park
Part 1, August 22, 1998, Just west of Indianapolis, this is the site of a
6-Hour National Endurance. After the start, we receive a Dunlop Tech Tip from
Matt McCord. Coverage continues through the third hour. #534 WERA Nat’l Putnam Park
Part 2, August 22-23, 1998, Continuing the race coverage with the Team Chicago
Helmet-Camera, we cover the last three hours of this National. The two races of
the National Challenge Series viewed are the 600 SuperStock and 750 SuperStock. #535 GLRRA at Grattan, August 29, 1998 #536 WERA Nat’l Texas World Part 1, September 19, 1998,
In College Station, Texas we compete in this 6 Hour National Endurance.
The racing action is covered from various spots on this track with Team Chicago
Helmet Camera footage included. The first three hours of this event are covered.
#537 WERA Nat’l Texas World Part 2,
September 19-20, 1998. The continuation of the 6 hour endurance. Opening with
Team Chicago Helmet camera footage we cover the last 3 hours of the Texas event.
Sunday’s National Challenge Races include both the 600 SuperStock and Open
SuperStock races. #538 WERA GNF Road Atlanta Part 1, October 16, 1998. The
final WERA National Endurance of the year. Watching the battle for the title
between Semoff Brother Racing and Arclight Suzuki. We interview Chris Hughes
from Arclight and Glenn Szarek from SBR. We cover the first 2 hours of the
4-hour race. #539 WERA GNF Road Atlanta Part 2, October 16-18, 1998. With
Grif Allan continuing to do the openings, we cover the last 2 hours of this
event. The trophy presentation is shows and some of the National Challenge races
including Open SuperStock, 750 SuperStock, Formula 1 and 600 SuperStock. #540 Bitter End Enduro, October 31, 1998 #541, THE RACE ‘98, Part 1, November 7, 1998. Saturday’s action from
Morrison, Illinois includes the 50, 60 and 80cc classes with interview with 60cc
winner, Tommy Furtune. Youngster, Brandon Griffith is also interviewed. Show
concludes with the 40-mile off-road race for vintage bikes. #542, THE RACE ‘98, Part 2, November 8, 1998. The entire 100-mile race is
covered from various parts of the baddest off-road race in the country. Through
cornfields across rivers and into the woods the action never ends #543 The Legends of Chicagoland M/C Racing Brunch,
November 29, 1998. The Legends Brunch moved to the Holiday Inn in Elmhurst,
Illinois. In this show we show some vintage footage including film footage by
Rudy Dolozal, a ½ mile race from South Bend, Indiana, May 8, 1949. The 1953
Springfield mile and some Santa Fe footage. Our guest speakers include: George
Mack, John Goodpaster, Duke Olliges, Pat McHenry and Basil Proskin.
#544, Toys for Tots Parade, December 5, 1998, We ride the annual Toys for Tots
parade in Chicago, the largest Toys for Tots parade in the country. As part of
this show we also look at the video from the Art of the Motorcycle from the
Field Museum in Chicago and we watch the vintage footage from the 1952 Daytona
race on the beach. #545,Vintage Racing, the 1961 Laconia Race,
Edited: December 12, 1998. We
re-edit the CBS Sport Spectacular coverage of the AMA National roadrace from
Laconia in New Hampshire in 1961.
